Bacon Onion Jam 🥓 🧅:
-1 pound bacon
-2 yellow onions(diced)
-2 teaspoon chili powder
-1 tsp garlic powder
-1 tsp kosher salt
-1/4 cup brown sugar
-1/4 cup maple syrup
-1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
Method:
Cook bacon in a large sauté pan until crispy, remove and set aside. Leave about 4-6 tablespoons of bacon grease in the pan then add the diced yellow onion. Sauté the onions for about 15 minutes stirring until lightly caramelized. Add in the kosher salt, chili powder, garlic powder and brown sugar. Stir and cook until the sugar begins to caramelize then pour in the apple cider vinegar and maple syrup. Chop the bacon into pieces and add to the pan. Stir until combined.
